Hey all, More fuel baffling questions. Is there anyone out there that builds 15 gal fuel cells with aluminum baffles instead of that hated foam ****? Was thinking of getting top cut off and have aluminum baffle installed , foam breaks down and is also throwing gas gauge off resulting in running out of gas in my rod.
You can call it whatever you like but its a a gas tank . Most factory tanks don't have baffles . you can weld in baffles ,I did in mine , just for the hell of it .. None of my boat tanks have had baffles . Hasn't made any noticeable difference that I can tell .
You all may laugh, well okay you will! However years ago racing a NE dirt modified injected on methanol, foam was out. 40 gallon molded plastic sprintcar tail tanks from Speedway didn't have anything inside. What people were doing was stuffing wiffle balls in the tanks. Polyethylene just like the tank, so methanol didn't have any effect on them. And if the races got rained out, we always had something to p*** the time with... This is the only rear view picture I have that shows the tank in the modified. It was a fug snit!
