wonder how wide the factory fenders are. I have a banjo rear end on my 30 and my tires are 12" outer measurement from the body. I ask because I am considering rear fenders. Thanks!

Measuring from the mounting flange to the inner edge of the wheel lip is 11 7/8". Keep in mind that you will need to source the best originals you can find or ask this same question from whoever is reproducing these fenders. Beautiful car.
I agree with enjoying the car as is for the time being and keep your ear to the ground for a nice set of fenders to come along. Good luck!

I just measured my repro steel 28-29 coupe/roadster/pickup rear fenders for curiousity sake. I got 11-1/4" from back of the mounting flange to inner edge of the wheel lip on both fenders. I'm not sure how different they are from 30 fenders, but in the same ballpark. That measurement was unmounted.

Some of the vendors for early Ford parts have several widths of rear fenders for this situation. Speedway Motors may have them, too.

I could only guess but I have a good pic that may help. I have two sets of original stock fenders, unfortunately not mounted on a car and a set of modified fenders on my 30 coupe that mount differently, are tubbed and raised. A 6.jpg

You are contemplating bobbing the rear fenders. There are numerous example pics on the HAMB to compare.

That is the original factory built look with the spare tire mount removed. The car sits on 19 inch wires and being raised up on wheel dollies, it accents the length somewhat. I still have that set of fenders and could determine how low they go by measuring from the duo-lite mounting holes.
Once you have a set in hand you will easily determine where to cut them based on the look you are after.

A push/intrusion bar on some modified bumper brackets helps out a bit with the long fender look.

I honestly love to see long fenders framing a banjo on a full-fendered trad rod. To each his own but I would never bob fenders.

No there original steel, I just cut the 3" section just below the fender brace. The two pieces fit back together fairly close when cut there
