Going to build this one as a 50s hotrod, found a set of stock rims and hubcaps from the 60s Monogram 40 pickup to use with the build.
I love the Monogram 34 Fords, here's a Cabriolet I built. Chopped, Skirts, 36 headlights and Lincoln bumpers.
Are you going to use the hood sides,I have almost enough parts to build a stock four cylinder version but do not have hood sides.
Nothing like the smell of caster bean oil and coconut resin in the morning! Original Cal Custom candy blue lacquer. 3 window kit converted to roadster. If I ever mention flush skirts again, kick me! John
Great taildraggin' custom, John. Front bumper(ette) treatment is cool. Similar in back? with license plate housing added?? Did you open just the driver's side? Looks like a lower hinge on passenger side but no top one. Really sits right and looks right! Hood screens are a nice touch.
Thanks. One door open only. It's a lot of work. Had to lower the floor. Both bumpers are modified 36s. I considered Desoto bumpers but decided to use what I had with some changes. Never noticed missing hinges. 36 headlights with flat lenses.
I first lowered the floor to where I thought it should be. The seat proportions where off so I cut some off the bottom of it and made upholstered bolsters in black. I made interior door panels out of thin sheet styrene. The seat cover fabric is stretchy lens cleaning cloth for eyeglasses with black thread for piping. Same cloth on the door panels with black textured fabric from ? Black cloth carpet. Brake lever is from the kit and a hat pin is the gear lever. The dished steering wheel is probably a 60s Ford or GM with a chrome hub cover. The door handles are bent ends of safety pins with escutcheons made by cutting a tiny bit off some vinyl tubing. The door openings are stretched from 5 window coupe length to roadster length. Thanks for asking. John
