Made the Red Baron car too. Tho Ed and Moldy are gone, Trixie is still alive and kicking, I support her every chance I can. https://www.ratfink.com/product/trixie-fink-collection-set
Just a note to add to the history. Burt da Shirt would sell Ed aRoth shirts for many many years at Pomona. At least 10-15+ years maybe more. On only recall back to about 97ish The family and him then parted ways once the VDutch and Roth of the mid-later 2008-10 ish, hipster frenzy hit. but he always had a very cool Mistakes pile that we're 5 dollar shirts. You would get like 5-6. Designs on one shirt. I will have to post some pics. They were the gaudiest cool short you would ever see. I have a few and when I come across them I always think of him.
I just saw a video of Roth doing Rat Fink on a helmet and he was wearing a t-shirt with the same design as one of mine! I'm probably rich.
I think I have a couple of magazines with that add or a very similar one in the little adds in the back. I remember that as a 13/14 year old I could never put together enough spare cash to order one. Plus asking my mom to order me a 10 dollar sweatshirt was out of the question even for my birthday.
I used to buy Rat Fink Iron Ons when I was a kid. Ruined all my good tee shirts... When I was in Afghanistan we picked up all kinda Russian Junk, Lotsa Russian Army Helmets. I painted a Mr Horsepower & a couple Rat Finks on them for folks. Nobody over there knew Mr Horsepower or Rat Fink...
Back in the day Ed Roth had a design with a 56 F100. Said something like Ford Hauler. I would LOVE to get that on a tee, but the Roth people won't do it. I even Emailed them and asked, but they wont. I guess not enough demand... But I love the old designs. My grandkids were really intrigued with my Rat Fink shirts- the little flies buzzing around, etc...
Ed is definitely eyeballing Annette in that picture. I mean, what bonafide weirdo wouldn't? Back in the early days, a few of the Mouseketeers, Anette included, we're doing a whistle stop here on the east coast & they appeared at this cheesy wannabe chain drug store in the east side of Allentown (PA). They where really scraping the bottom of the barrel there. Anyway, a bunch of us kids decided to join the festivities & we were outside when they departed the gig inside. A lot of people were lined up on each side of the entrance & when Annette passed us, my buddy shoved me in her direction & I went down, grazing her poodle skirt with my hand. I was the talk of the east side for a while...the guy who touched Annette.
Might try finding Ed Newton and see if you can get a high quality pic of it. Plenty of local shops will print you a few shirts - I've used 3 in the past to make shirts for my brother's construction company from art work I generated. "Partial shot"
It's a shame that Ed Roth, didn't live long enough, to view this incredible little YouTube video. He would have really loved it !
