We towed a travel trailer with a 57 Ford wagon, black car with a red and white vinyl interior. I was 13 when my dad decided we would go to Disneyland in August, no A/C in our cars back then. It was 97 degrees at 10pm in Susanville where we stayed in the trailer that night. Next day well over 100 as we traveled south, Interstate 5 didn't exist yet. I still have lines branded on the back of my thighs from those vinyl seats. Every time we stopped my dad didn't want to turn the car off for fear it would vapor lock. In 1999 my son was 12, we took a trip to Disneyland in a new Chrysler T&C van. Fully loaded including dual air and video system. About halfway home he says "HEY, I've already seen this movie", really has it rough doesn't he!
