I only knew Albert Drake through his books (I have several) and his wonderful writing over the years. I know it will be a wonderful celebration of life and although I'm half a country away, I will be there in spirit.
Perhaps someone who attends might post a recap and some pics. I'm sure that would be appreciated.

I heard about this from Brizz at the last Alley I attended. I didn't know him, but I am happy to honor him none the less.

Billy, most all Hot Rodders know his work through his books, articles and monthly columns for Goodguys. Al was a truly great guy and I feel very fortunate to be able to call him good friend for over 40 years. Al was a very humble man and did not want a lot of fuss over his p***ing but I know that he would appreciate us Hot Rodders having a real good bench race and B.S. session in his honor.

My bench racing 60 footers need some work but my reaction time is right there with the best of them. See you gents at the clubhouse.

Any luck with a report on how it went. Bit far for me to get there, but friend of Al's and Slopokes (through Al) for a long time. Miss him already. David
