No matter what colour you chose that's a few acres of paint required.

I've never painted 'flake, so there's probably a pretty steep learning curve. And, I don't want it to look like bass boat. Which is what I think of whenever I see heavy 'flake on a car. It's just not me. ;)

  3. Ohhh those wires would look killer on there

  4. It's ironic because customs used big flake first, the boats ruined it for cars. This was more than a bit tongue-in-cheek in any case, big flake paint ends up so thick that it's a nightmare for maintenance.... :(

So, do you want "bling"/hey everybody put your sunglasses on so I don't blind you...........or do you want something you can drive and enjoy?

Talked to a guy at the Nats and he told me he just sold a freshly built car that had an expensive paint job because he was scared to drive it anywhere. Built another one and it looked great but not "in your face" color wise. He drove it 800 miles to get to the nats and was having a great time.

My suggestion is a lighter color that doesn't show dirt easily and no mile deep clearcoat. Something thats easy to touchup if needed. Just returned from my son's house and saw my grandsons black mustang...his first car. Hasn't had it 3 weeks yet and a rock got kicked up and put a decent dent in the roof of the car...............

If you do it gold it'll look like all the others.

I cleaned my shop yesterday and all I found was a pile of trash to take to the dump today.

I'll be different. Way, way, long ago when I was a teenager I built a 58 model kit. Painted it silver with medium blue accent panels. Looked great to my teenage eyes. The shape and body sculpting on those really looks good with accent panel painting. So, silver with smaller metallic flakes, accent panels in blue with BIG flake.
