Anyone used the Matt red oxide Hotrod Flatz? How close does it look to an old red oxide primer? I know there were different shades of red oxide depending on brand just wondering if this stuff looks like one of them?

  2. Haven’t used it.
But I did take a rustoleum red primer can to a paint store and we matched it.
Autobahn primers makes an economical red epoxy as well.

Ppg dp90, been on the car since 2006. I’ve waxed it so now it has a nice semi gloss look. Sorry this didn’t answer your question or help you one bit. E1958C64-64B3-45E4-9D94-C9856694400B.jpeg

DP 90 is black, think that’s DP74. That is a option but the Hotrod Flatz is a actual urethane paint and should hold up better.

You are correct it isn’t dp90. This stuff has been on the car since 2006 so as far as holding up that hasn’t seemed to be a problem. Of course most hot rods live in garages 95% of the time so constant uv isn’t a problem.

Yes that is the paint, the truck has black primer sealer, hot rod red oldie paint, then green. Later on I will sand it.
