    I'm searching for help with a re-wiring of my '61 D100.

To install the ballast resistor into my new Rebel harness, do I simply cut the wire marked "coil", and install the ballast in between?

I've been learning lots on this project, though there always seems to be more to know.

Since you are using a ballast resistor, I ***ume you are using a points ignition?
Find a good place to mount the ballast resistor, before cutting the (pink?) coil wire.

I am, yes. Taking your answer as confirmation the ballast gets inserted into the pink wire labeled "coil".
    Thank you,

You will also need a full 12 volts to coil side of the resistor . But only to help it start , it then drops to 8 volts to run the engine ….
