I like the look of aluminum, the beadrolling in those is cool.
My Chevy II aluminum door panels aren't quite that well done - but they are functional.

They will at some point be covered with vinyl and this thread is giving me some ideas - thanks for another good thread.

My son in law had bought a jeep wagoner that had been cut down into a pickup. The interior panels were indoor paneling that needed replaced. The thing hadn’t seen a garage in years and was a little bit scruffy looking. I made panels for it out of an old grain bin sections . The galvanized was a little rusty and it held up to them tossing stuff in the back . He sold it a couple years ago and any pictures I had were lost when my old phone died

I like the interior colors...looks "retro".

  8. Here's my '49 Ford Coupe, The Judge, panels. Before it was completed. About 5 years ago. That roll up window handle is actually an electric switch to roll up and down the windows. The door opener handle is not mounted but it has two functions. The first click it operates a solenoid but in case that doesn't work there is a mechanical linkage to open the door from the inside. Note the three-point seat belts. Real roles and pleats, done by Tico at Leather Replacement in Austin. Perfect!

I posted this one on my PU a couple pages back and when I did, I noticed something I didn't like. The doors have gloss black paint separating the door card from the speakers. The kick panel just ran the pearl vinyl to the fender speaker cloth.

My daughter, being the seamstress she is, fixed that. I still need to glue them to the boards and clip them back in. Much more better! It's the little things...

Yep, small block Chevy, for my radio/cassette player. All you need is a saws all & drill to make it work !

  19. still working in the carpet (need to do some wiring before gluing down)

For the door panels and such currently thinking charcoal tweed where the grey tweed is and black suede where the vinyl is and black carpet (same as floor) that might change though.

This is a low buck interior, so I went to a mill end discount fabric outlet looking for dark grey fabric that would look good with the seats I am using (97 Grand Prix, front and rear). I found this fabric and when I got home it was a EXACT match to the seats, not sure if it left over GM stuff or not. It is a type of velour?

My first attempt, ‘46 Chevrolet. Also first faux wood grain trim. These pics were taken during assembly. Also first headliner. 1FDE2D1F-C65D-48A7-AC56-72EA184B6574.jpeg 26C24DE0-0EDE-4BCD-A458-811326302802.jpeg

  24. It looks great, I found similar material for around $18 per yard x 59 inches. I might end up starting this project next.

    Hello,

Always wonder what Doug Cook saw in every run down the dragstrip in the Swindler 2?

A very nicely done custom, blue/white tuck and roll, panel combination to match the roof plus the side panels. At the time of the photo, the 41 Willys Coupe had just been moved to this empty location and had the steering wheel cover to keep the original wheel pristine. Things just need preserving to keep the flame going…!!! YRMV

Note: The original tubular custom grille front end combination was also on display.

  28. HRP - you sure got responses, lots of food for thought. I didn’t realize how dramatic a difference door cards can make, even on a relatively simple model a. This is not my car, but mine is a similar blank canvass. FB882E20-B0E3-4F48-B295-FF489FB7E24E.jpeg
