I am trying to assemble the stock horn button assembly for the 47 Ford Pickup and can not seem to compress the two springs far enough to slip the three tabs of the horn button into the steering wheel so that I can rotate the horn button counter-clockwise to lock it into space. Does anyone have experience and suggestions as to how to accomplish this?

Two springs? Pretty sure there is only room for one coil spring under the button. Thats the way mine is.

Thank you. I believe you are exactly correct. I don't know where the extra spring came from??
Thank you. Yep that is what my button and spring look like. I appear to have too many springs.
