Older I ***ume? New ones dont look even close to those. I’d love a pair like the ones you have for my ‘32!

As far as I know they are made offshore, not saying questionable quality but they just don't look like the originals.
A handful out there that resemble Hals, I think Real Rodder Wheels are nice but read they may have stopped making wheels, ET are pretty nice too.

So, since this thread popped back up and I know @Dan Hay is doing some work on the 38 soon, wondering if you ever picked a wheel/tire combo yet? :D

Due to financial restraints, I can't do Halibrands at this time. It's gonna get steelies and the Olds Fiesta Caps that were already on it, and a set of Diamondback Auburn Radials, wide white wall. What I can't decide is if to do the really wide whites (4") like I had on my 40 and 39 sedan, or 2" whites like Lee Pratt's 40.

2" looks like late '50s to me, and I think is preferable to the 4" whitewalls which look earlier.

Kinda what I'm thinking. I've had the 4" whites so I'm leaning towards the 2" for something different. But, these tires are expensive so I'd be locked in for a while.

You mentioned that you'd be using Diamondbacks. I've had excellent results with that brand; far superior to Coker's.

Whatever you decide I know will look right, IMHO the car doesn't really need changing, well it probably dow=es need some new tires. HRP

I have Diamond Back White Wall radials on my 40 and they look and work great. If you need I can measure the white wall width.
