I'm starting work on my 55 Olds again and over time parts have gotten moved around. Can someone show me what the clips look like that are used on the trim at the front edge of the hood? (Photo) Additionally, one of the mounts on my drivers side vent window regulator is broken. Searching online, I'm only finding regulators for tri-five Chevy. The Chevy regulator looks the same as mine with the exception the Chevy passenger side matches my drivers side. Were the same regulator used, but on the opposite sides for Chevy and Olds?
A lot of the GM stuff was the same across their brands, so widen your search to 55-57 Pontiac, Buick, etc. Are they the wind-out vent windows, with the short handle? I have rebuilt a few over the years, and the same GM units were fitted to most of their brands.
When I had my 54 Buick Special convert, I found that a lot of the door parts, wing windows, and trunk lids were the same for Olds 88, Chev and Buick Special. The bigger body cars, Olds 98 and Buick Super and Roadmaster were different. Don't know about Pontiac.
Thanks for the responses. I've tried changing search terms, but most hits are still for tri-five Chevy. I have to play with wording more. Yes, the vent windows are the crank out type with a short crank handle and a sliding lock at the bottom. I think the hood trim clips are going to be a bigger challenge than the regulator.
