I have a 1960 comet with a 144 i6 and two speed fordomatic. There is a trans leak from between the torque converter and trans. It seeps right where the silver and black come together. It appears (it’s tight down there to see exactly) to be running down from the sides of that seam. So the leak starts a bit higher. Thoughts on what this could be? I am thinking front seal. I don’t think there is anything else up in there to leak. I looked at the schematic and this is my only hypothesis. Does anyone agree?

If it is not the front pump seal, then it could be a cracked case. I have seen this happen on C4s, which are also aluminum. If the filler tube goes directly into the case and not into the side of the oil pan, then you might want to check the o ring on the filler tube. They sometimes will leak from there and give you a false indication of where the leak is really at.
