Can someone/anyone explain how that cross steer works

I have posted different angles of this car in this thread many times. It's in a static position at a car show. I

I remember that Quincy Automotive Bantam from Lions, one of the meanest looking altereds of it's time. Who were the owner and driver?

 

The Quincy Bantam was actually the rebodied version of the Brisette brothers 29 roadster. The Ford body got really messed up when Jimmy had the fire at El Mirage. I know Jimmy drove it at the 1/2 mile drags, maybe 1/4 mile too.

 

Here is a couple of slides Dad took in July '67 at Oswego Drag Raceway.

 

Got to love it a Jeep with a HEMI and a super slot.

 

If it had the power, a wheelstand could turn out very interesting.

 

I just ran across this picture while putting away some old magazines. One of my all time favorites, Rucker, Seivers and Petrie.

 

My dads hand is on the chute, Al Mahany is to the right and my brother is next to Al.
