With all this Drag racing set ups I thought I would change my tudor up and maybe drop my 60 ft times a little. Everyone knows I blow the bias tires off in 1st and second so with the donation from Mike Milsap from Sachie Rod shop he let me have his slicks off his dragster. His best time at bowlinggreen was 7.67 at 174mph and won so it should help me... So heres some pict of the Drag set up...
I bet you can't do a burnout anymore with those tires! haha, I kid. Is that a chicken express cup on your floor? its making me hungry
Nice, I like it when the tire's are spinning though, lots a smoke always looks cool and lot less chance of breakage. Gary
Man what a kewl *** look and i hope your going to Temple in a couple of weeks cause i wanna see that beast rolling hard
Dang....those are huge!! I can almost guarantee you'll hook up better than me. My slicks are harder than....well, let's just say they're really damn hard. It looks crazy with those big ol' meats! I like it.
Now that is what I am talking about! I think those tires might get you air born, and that would be bad ***.
Like the look....You going to change the rearend gears to adjust for the diameter of the tire? (maybe a dumb question)
Looks pretty funky, but I agree with the Fidgeter. I think it's going to cost you some parts. Better have a back up plan in mind when you head to Temple. We wouldnt want the midget to get stranded <.
I find it amazing on all cars how different the look can be changed between different wheel and tire combo's. It has a total "Drag" look to it now and looks pretty tuff at that.
Dude - that looks absolutely nuts............. I can see it in the lights now, fat meats, wheelie wheels, parachute, headers belching flames, and the princess's car seat on the p***enger side.
Looks like it needs to be painted with yellow flake, then fogged panels and "endless line" stripes with airbrushed freak dots randomly placed....
Danny its certainly different. And I suppose ok if you only run it that way a time or two a year. But after 5 hours of following that thing with the bias'd tires and then to see the slicks. I kinda threw up in my mouth a bit. Can't wait until next Saturday I'll tell ya that much!!!
I think it looks bad ***! But... (don't you hate the 'but' part) Along with the possibility of breakage (please tell me its an automatic transmission...) I'm expecting one hellacious bog out of the hole. Not knowing too much about the power of the car I'm guessing you wouldn't see too much of a gain running those tires. My advice to you... honestly... find some skinnier slicks. If you HAVE to run those, I would run a lot of pressure and skip the burnout.
danny, i got a set of old 9" slicks from my mustang days if you want em'. they're old firestones. may need tubes, i dunno. matt
I LOVE the way it looks, but I gotta agree they might not be the best tire for ET's. I had a set of 14 X 32 slicks I ran on my 34 International pickup that ran real consistent 7.40/7.50 in the 1/8 mile. I tried a set of 10.50 X 30's and ran 7.20's. This was with a decent 468. You can "overtire" a car pretty easily.
i think ol Mike let you borrow those so he would garuntee a parts sale after he gets them back if you need a hitch back i guess we can run back to the Cove and get my trailer. it won't be there because i am driving mine up and back. see you at the drags Brant
