I'll have to get more pics of this one. Last parts lot score. Untouched aside from mild reassembly. Still missing a few small parts but displays nicely
Hi Ron.Thanks for starting this thread.Brings back a lot of memories from 60 or so years ago. Also thanks to all the posters that have contributed to this thread. I will admit that when I first saw the title of this thread many moons ago,it conjured up an entirely different theme. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
Even though all four are original 1962 release first run(denoted by red plastic) kits this is more of a box art comment. All are new builds. I have a thing for doing builds based on the 3n1 kit thing. Bare red plastic one is the stock version I built from an unbuilt original kit(actually to the box). Purple version was supposed to be a box art of the hot rod version. Thought it was supposed to be purple instead of pink lol. Black one is obviously the service truck version. Last one is a bonus. In the original instructions there's several custom kitbashing suggestions.... including a full build suggestion. Green one is based off that. All but the red red still need a few things but I'm happy with them so far.
A suitcase I did for a charity auction at a recent car show. The model box picture is above the suitcase.
'56 Olds 98 finally done !! This is a Jo-Han promo re-issue bought thru an ad in Scale Modeler (?) mid 1990s ... no interior or running gear, just a "tabletop" ... Thanks to Jeff in Poky for the Bare Metal Foil work.
One of my favorite kits. I have at least one stashed away but plan to build something very similar in 1/8th scale.
Mark, Those store displays with the models are my favorite. They bring back the best of memories of going to the hobby shops as a kid.. Are they a remake? or from back in the day? Either way they are Very Cool! They were my holy grail of toy show collecting. But I rarely spotted one, and then they were usually above my budget. Thanks for sharing. Ron....
yeah, they are remakes, I have only ever seen a couple of real ones and they were pretty rough looking.
Thanks Mark. How could I buy one? If you think a PM more appropriate I understand. I've never look for things on the internet. But I'd make an exception for one of those! lol So Very Cool ! Thanks, Ron....
I didn’t realize that I never posted this Red Baron store model here. It's a model that Mark Moriarity found for me at a toy show. I know I posted it on another thread. But it should be here too. Thanks again Mark.
