As much as I hate to sell it, it's time to find a new home for my old survivor shoebox kustom. Car was built in Missouri in the early 1950s by a guy named John Fletcher. It started as a 1950 Ford 2 door sedan. The body has been sectioned (roughly 3.5" from my guess), shaved, decked, and molded with pontiac bumpers, quad tail lights, and a custom tube grille. All of the bodywork is done in lead. Push ****on door poppers hooked up to solenoids. All done in the 50s before it was parked in a barn in Missouri, which collapsed in the 60s Under the hood is an 8ba flathead with custom side pipes. Not a runner but looks like a good block. All of the old chrome/stainless trim is there and will clean up nicely. Taillight lenses interior door handles/knobs are there as well. The interior sports a cool custom split bench and center console with an interesting shifter setup. Unfortunately, the last owner gutted the upholstery. Had black & white naugahyde tuck n roll (filled with hay/burlap). All that is left is seat frames and headliner bows. All windows and regulators are there (not pictured). As far as rust goes, the lower door skins and rocker panels will need to be replaced. Floors are solid, with no rot. There is some bubbling in the A pillars, but overall not bad for a car that spent most if it's life outside under a collapsed barn. It's a very interesting old kustom, and definitely odd being a sectioned 2 door sedan. It's been my dream to own this car since I first saw it, but life has thrown some curveballs and it's time to part ways. I'd love to see it go to a good home where someone will breathe new life into it, or restore to its former glory. Below is article was published by Geoff Hacker of Undiscovered Cl***ics back in 2017. Link is attached below and shows some of the interior when it had upholstery. Car comes with a clean ***le.
