a blown '57 371 in the '30 A Coupe

 

a dual quad '63 394 on the test stand

 

a '58 J2 that was to go in a '30 A Coupe

 

Wow Paul, all those Olds engines and every one is pretty…..

 

I have pictures of dirty ones too..
maybe save those for later

 

the same '58 371 ended up with 2x4's and in the '23 Roadster

 

The olds my dad ran in the coupe eventually got placed in the rail. Notice the Fenton valve covers on both. I eventually found a good set to use later in the coupe

What was the logic on using these "headers"?

 

those are starter tubes for building headers.
I ran the engine in using iron manifolds on the stand and put those on for pictures to advertise the sale.

revisiting this video makes me wonder why I sold it. Fresh rebuild with 10:1 pistons Crane solid lifter cam, McGurk rockers, Vertex magneto, iron flywheel, Muncie 4 speed with Hurst Vertigate shifter... oh well, "can't keep 'em all"
