I've still got my vhs copy of this movie I bought in the late '80s. Love everything about this movie down to the West Coast Cool Jazz soundtrack.

 

The full video is available to watch on Amazon and i think you get the 57 NHRA nationals as well. I used to have the vhs and then later it came out on dvd. Very hard to find in any version now. Great Stuff. Very reminiscent of a Bruce Brown surf film.

 

I have a handout from when they were showing the film in High School Auditoriums.

very cool. been to Bonneville if you never been, go one time, worth the trip and the $$ to visit.

 

Alex's dad was a prominent camera man during the silent film days in Hollywood. In his bio, Alex talks about all of the stars that would drop by the house on weekends.

 

I met Alex in '98, around the time of the re-birth of So Cal, with Pete, and one of the first things I commended him on was this movie. I can watch it over and over again, thanks to him, an American Legend !
