I don't know if its just me or what. I have High speed internet and every other site I have ever gone on is real fast (2-3 sec.) It takes about 30-60sec on average to load a page usually not every page but most...I have noticed if the thread is large it takes even longer to load.....Lucky
We are actually hosted on monster servers (thanks to Yahoo!, Rackable Systems, and Noteboom)... Our server load is pretty light considering our hardware at the moment. I've had no reports of performance problems... That said, I get a ton of AOL issues... There is nothing I can do about those. Frankly, AOL sucks... anyone else having issues?
not having any problems. try loading spybot and lavasoft's adware on your computer. these are freeware and they help to keep your machine working better. and yes AOL does suck.
Mine loads exceptionally quick considering that amount of posts I search with pictures in them. No issues. AOL is the devil.
I AM WITH LUCKY...... I DONT HAVE DSL OR HIGH SPEED AND THE HAMB WOULD LOAD BITCHEN FROM THE TIME I SIGNED UP TILL ABOUT 5 DAYS AGO THEN I COULD EVEN LOG ON FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS, NOW IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO OPEN PAGES. EVRY OTHER SITE I GO TO LOADS FAST & OPENS PAGES JUST FINE.. ONLY THE HAMB IS GIVING ME PROBLEMS. YOU GUYS CAN BAG ON AOL ALL YOU WANT ... BUT IT AINT AOL, THERES SUPMTHIN WRONG WITH THE HAMB OR ONE OF ITS SERVERS ... MAYBE JUST HERE IN CALIFORNIA .... BUT ITS NOT AOL, EVERYTHING ELSE RUNS JUST FINE. AND I DID SEND AN E~MAIL TO THE HAMB ASKING IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM.. AND GOT NO REPLY MAYBE IT HAS SOMTHING TO DO WITH THE CHANGES/UP GRADES THE HAMBE IS DOING RIGHT NOW
Sorry, but it is. I had those problems--sometimes intermittent--and Ryan suggested it was their browser...... Soooo, I loaded up Mozilla Firefox and I'm bangin' HAMB pages as fast as ever. I even tried AOL's browser last night and it wouldn't even open the HAMB... The ONLY issue I have now is picture loaded threads down load painfully slow(something AOL didn't do when it worked )....but I still use dial-up...(hey, it's traditional, right? )
OK .... EVERYONE can tell me AOL sucks .... can ANYONE tell me why its only the HAMB that aint workin right ??? SHIT even PORN loads up quick .... but not the HAMB !!
Desoto, I did reply to your email man... Numerous times in fact... Check your spam folder... I might have been picked up there. As for AOL, it is on their side... not mine... This has been confirmed by AOL. There is simply NOTHING I can do about it. I wish there was... The HAMB has not been changed AT ALL in over 2 months. That said, if you have blinding love for AOL you can still use the HAMB. Once you log on to AOL, simply use firefox or internet explorer as your browser. Problem solved. AOL does suck indeed. when designing webpages i always have the hardest time with aol, IE. the best browser out there IMHO is mozilla firefox. it's a free download and put's a spanking on ie, aol and the rest. _T
A month or so ago I was experiences problems exactly like you. Other sites loading fine but issues with the HAMB...using AOL of course. I brought my hardrive to the IT guy at work who took took everything off including AOL and installed a new operating system and told me if I reloaded anything at all from AOL he would never touch my computer for me again. EVERY site now, especially the HAMB, lightening fast.
I use IE5.5 with windows ME, high speed cable and somedays I have to hit the refresh a couple times to load pages, it will change pages just not load anything but the background colour, the refresh will normally get things going again

Since the last two upgrades, I've had very slow load times on HAMB & Jockey Journal only. All other pages load quickly. The only thing that saves me is the quick reply box - if I hit reply & have to wait for the page to reload, it really slows down. I believe it is Orange (formerly Wannadoo, formerly Freeserve) & I'm not worried as I move tomorrow & will eventually get a different ISP. Running XP & IE 6, DSL @ 512K and it's only here...I think it's this ISP. Hopefully all will rectify itself after the move back to the states...
in the last few weeks.....yes......long pause....... i just brushed it off on lots of traffic...... right this second......fast..... even our blazing fast network at work has mirrored my experience from home.....like i said....i just blew it off......
Yeah thats what mine is doing also....Can someone explain why it is just the HAMB that is slow and not everything else on my AOL. It wasn't always like this, thats what I can't understand.....
