Idle vacum

My 454 at 700 RPM has 16/17 inches of vacuum at the modulator valve with the line going directly into the intake manifold, is this enough to operate the turbo 400 trans?

 

That sounds good to me.
Let's ask @squirrel if he has experience with this.

 

I always enjoy squirrel's input....

 

Get a vacuum gage and try to play with the idle mixture screws.... Try shooting for the highest vacuum reading on your gage.....

 

That's a really good vacuum reading. And it's plenty enough to run power brakes or the modulator or anything.

 

It don't hurt none to check it once in awhile....
