Would anyone that has a '28-'29 Model A pickup, let me know what the length of the sun visor is. From images they look maybe 7-8"? I'd rather make one than buy one. And didn't want to guess. Greatly appreciated!
Brookville reproduces them, so I'd imagine they'd have that dimension on hand if you give them a call. Or PM through eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/270771500732
That's not Brookville's ebay. He buys from them and resells, and he's not honest about what he has in stock so I'd be surprised if he even had one to measure on.
Thanks. Yeah, I've seen that one... pricey. It's really not a big deal. I do metal work/fabrication, but I'm a cheap ***, so I thought I'd ask around first, just to save a little time.
I figured you could just call and "verify the correct dimensions" and they'd give you the numbers. Can't say I've seen too many guys on this forum with 28-29 closed trucks with the factory visor who could help. Maybe on fordbarn.com
I measured my skeleton, which is 9-1/4 inches from the back to the brim and on the sides add 1-1/2 inches on the ears attaching at each end. Hope that helps.
Thank you! Wow that's longer than I was expecting. But to cover that 5" header above the windshield, makes since.
I agree, if the cab is chopped. '28-'29 cabs have a 5' header panel above the windshield. The later/ smaller visors don't hide the header. To me it doesn't look right. But I do plan on choppin' the cab, but not for a while. Too many other priorities at this time.
