Event Coverage Twin city roadster swap

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Moriarity, Oct 1, 2023.

  1. I think that's the swap I caught a couple times when I lived up there in the Mid 90s? Did it use to be at the NE side of the fairgrounds?

I picked up a set of Sivertowns for a good price. There was a 36 3 window project I was drooling over.

I once had that steering wheel in white. My Pops sold it and the A ch***is connected to it for
$25. In fact if ya blow up my avatar you will see it in my buddy Don's hands

I’ve got the wooden version in my Morris woody. I’ve had it since the ‘70s. I’ve always liked it, just didn’t have the right car for it.

I've been kicking myself all day...the swap has usually been held later in October, so this morning I went to see if it was going to be next weekend or the weekend after, and found out it was held yesterday.

TC Roadsters' swap is nearly the best here in the year, only contender is the Btt50s. Can go either way, depends on weather swap day & a couple before it. *Always* something of interest - even for me, w/eclectic tastes & a fairly thin pocketbook. :D .

This swap is my favorite, more so than Iola or Jefferson. Just the right size and quite a bit of hotrod stuff. There was one booth that stood out, and not in a good way. If I remember correctly there was a few tables full of ceramic figurines. Not sure how those made it through the gate. ha.

  12. It is the best swap meet in Minnesota , why haven’t you been there?

Best part was, I got there at 5 am and was the first in line. Normally they hold us off and don’t open until 6. This time they let us in at 5:15!!!!!

Roadster swap has always been the best of the year. It was always fun looking for parts with a flashlight in early morning dark; not to mention snow a couple times over the years.

Found this '29 Tudor for a friend. Really nice shape, solid throughout; plus the seller delivered it that afternoon. Guy also had a nice '31 and another '29 still on the ch***is; the '29 touring sold right away.

  17. Maybe we will plan a trip up next year? What are the Fall colors looking like? Something to do with the family. I would certainly buy you breakfast or lunch. We still stay in the same hood NE of you when we visit. Changed families but the new one lives a 100 yards from the old in laws!

  18. I looked at the body , in my opinion it was actually very good and the price was good too
