I tried carnut and didn't see much, I would like to see what everyone has saved on their computers. I think '56-60 is the same style so anything from those years will work. Thanks.
been covered a couple times recently (but what hasn't been?), so here goes... and a "photo-chop" a friend did of mine...
There's a guy the next street over to me with one of these. It's actually in good original condition but not running. He doesn't want to sell it and it doesn't seem like he works on it either. What a waste.
Great pics....can't wait to get started on my '60..... http://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m245/eldomike/1960%20Ford%20F100/
OK ....Now you'll went and did it . I've got a 57 and never thought about chopping the top until I looked at these pics . Glass is good in my truck can they cut the glass down to fit or will I have to have new glass made ????
I've had a few people say that about me; there are some situations where its just a matter of time. My truck sat at my parent's house for 3 years while I was finishing college. At least two guys tried to buy it along the way. I just had no space or money to do it while I was in school. I'm out now and the ball is rolling. But I agree, I hate to see old tin rotting away, especially when its mine! There's some good info on these trucks at http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum41/ And there's a good little photo in this thread showing 58-60 front ends. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/528459-new-purchase-58-ford-f100-3.html#post3980238 The 57 only has two headlights. I'm always up for pic-whoring so here's my 60: Man, there's some bad trucks posted here. I'm brewing ideas for how I want mine. J
I have one sitting in my garage that I have finally decided to keep and do. Scored some stuff at Carlisle yesterday and hopefully some more at Hershey. It is a big back window, step-side but the more I look I want a fleet side bed. Any have any local to Phila, Balt Area let me know. Thanks. Larry
I'd love to know who is running what for suspensions. I am trying to figure the best way to get it on the ground that won't put me in the poor house. Larry
I was pondering this today as well. With the stock straight axle there isn't much room to get a lot lower. Maybe an inch or two, tops.
Industrial Chassis, Inc. makes a front X-member that uses Dodge Dakota suspension/steering/brakes (much better than Pinto/MII stuff!). The owner is a hamber: ELpolacko. Stuff looks real nice, and he's a decent guy. I'll be using his kit on my '59. BTW- did you know that '58, '59, '60 were the only years Ford made a pickup with 4 headlights?
This is my '59, pretty much my daily parts chaser., Also the one I need a DS door for dirty tace! Rotted out bad at the bottom. Got a new .040 over 292" with Isky cam built for it, but I'm thinking of going with a 460 C6 in it so I can pull my drag car with it. 292" is for sale if anybodys interested, PM me.
does anyone know what front clip would fit these trucks best? i also have one that needs to be lower. thanks -jeff
I want to set it up to tow. I was thinking a MII in the front, drop springs and flip the rear axle with a pair of bags in the back. I also want a cool looking strong motor. I am thinking a nailhead. Does anyone have more pics?
Mine's a work in progress, just picked it up from a hamb'er, so some of ya'all might reconize it. I'm planning on getting a dropped axle and reverse eye springs in the front and doing spring under axle in the rear with reverse eye springs. Which also means I'll be c-notching and boxing the frame. Might be a while till I get around to it, but I'm having fun driving it as is for now. There's a ton of room in the engine bay to put whatever you want.
Does anyone know about the front sheetmetal/grill interchangability on 57-60? I prefer the earlier grill and hood to my '60.
Fenders are different on 57 and 58, the turn signals are integrated into the fender. The hoods are interchangable, I like the lines on the 57-8, they're not as stub-nose looking to me. The 59 gravel pan differs from the 60 as well.
