Simply ‘33’s are anorexic and rather a cow catcher look. Whereas the ‘34’s are beefier and don’t look like a shovel. The most important distinction is the ‘34’s look WAY BETTER!
For the last 50 years i had looked at the 34 as the one i would have over the 33, but i have now swapped around. I find them easy to spot at a glance. JW
And 34 cowls have the notches in the top ledge to hold the hood when open. The 33's are smooth on top. 34's have the added metal at the back of the front window for the smokers window to slide back into.
photo by Vnak Hello, A red hot rod stands out from all of the other colors of hot rod builds. It just gets sighted from far away and as one walks toward the red hot rod, it gets better on the approach. My wife and I were at a local car show prior to the pandemic lock down. It had all sorts of hot rods in various stages of completion and very nicely finished cars. Or if any hot rod can be in a finished state. But this 33-34 sedan stood out from the end of the block as the one that attracted me to the area, by p***ing several other cool looking hot rods. As I approached, the hot rod was not only red, but the flames on the hood, fenders and door were done quite nicely. Contrasting colors of yellow and with a hint of blue pinstriping for the “blue flame” tips made it as real as possible without overpowering the nice red color of the sedan. From the front, it is saying… “Here I come…” Jnaki The yellow flames with the fine blue pinstriping outlines were pretty nice, but did not over power the cool sedan.
