So @Olcars did you aquire any pics of it back in the day...did it ever see the road as a Hotrod...I suspect it did...that would have looked pretty cool going by... I see front discs so it's had a recent...er past...but I'm thinking it has older origins in Hotrod...again, yeah, you sure have our attention... Are you going to resurrect the past which old pics would aid in. Time to get that post count up in style...We'd all like to see more of it and yeah...more of the story on it's former glory...did it have an engine come with it?

Hi there; thanks for the input. Well a few things; unfortunately the only thing I know of the original history is that it came from Kaslo BC in the 1960s. The man I got it from thinks it had a Hemi in it. I suspect that it was a car that made it on the road. As for things like the disc brakes, those are remnants of a couple of attempted resurrections that didn’t get finished. That also includes a Dana 60 rear diff with coil springs and some pretty funky ladder bars. It also has mounts added for a small block Chevy and auto trans. My plans are to farm out the body to have some metal work done and get the doors to fit better. I am going to put the current chassis under a ‘32 pickup that I have. Somehow I have found myself with (3) other original Deuce frames, so I am going to build up the best frame I have. I also have a really nice 32 heavy axle dropped, another set of 32 split bones, round spindles, and F-100 brakes with chrome backing plates. I also have a really nice ‘55 Chrysler 331 Hemi. I think if you put it all together, it’s the making of a pretty special car. It presently still has the windshield and windows that roll up. The first thing I have ever brought home that did!
Nice. Sometimes it’s the stories that are too good to be true that turn out to be just exactly that. Years ago we got an early hemi kick and chased a rumor of a real 417 Donovan in MS. Went to ask and find one day. And left owning the 33 rd one that was made. Had Mike kuhls (blower fame) stamped all over it. Never stop chasing the dreams/rumors /legends. The journey for me has been like the fountain of youth. And everyone still believes in Christmas.
And yes. Those Ansen Sprints are something I would go back for. I have several sets and they are in my mind one of three sets of perfect race car wheels.
It’s sad that the previous owner never got to get it together and drive it again. I’m sure it was his dream for many years… I’m just hoping to get my current ride roadworthy before spring. Time keeps on slippin’ into the future…
@Olcars...your plan rocks...please share the journey it sounds priceless... BC has a rich history in Vintage Hotrod...perhaps it'll show up in some of that imagery that gets around here...finger crossed...
Paging @The Rabid Whippet... I know Rabids from Washington but spent alot of his days BC amongst premium vintage Hotrod/Custom... Maybe he may know of it... Any other West Coast Hotrodders recognize this Deuce...
When I get a chance I will post a photo of the “spats” that are on the lower door hinges. They are very distinctive and I hope they jog someone’s memory.
I thought I saw it in a BC Thread in a Mag spread...but it was a Vicky... I really hope some period pics show up...
I've seen the hinges streamlined on old school 32's & others, but never with the likes of yours, certainly unique somewhat like a splitting mall.
Those hingelets are as said pretty unique as are so many features on that Hotrod...who knows when you sand the body perhaps there may be some lettering of pinstripes show up...perhaps someone wrote something inside somewhere...the dash looks kinda different and is there any filled former tailights...such a neat beast...
I was just up in the Oliver area on a club car tour and I thought I recognized the scenery of your travels and lo and behold a good old B.C./Canadian car! Congrats and PLEASE keep us updated...
Where's the Older Hotrod Hoodlums out west there?...someones got to have seen this Hotrod back in the Day...You know the Orange Krate days... Can't miss those door hinge details...it surely was quite the looker...
