Definitely a cool car with some cool features. There's just millions of way's to build these A's and everyone's idea is different which is a good thing, but I ain't too keen on that there roll bar.
If I had access to a pipe bender I would put one in my 34 Truck. There is just to many IDIOTS on the road any more that do not pay attention.
I would do the same if I was building a closed cab. I like the roll bar in that car, it nearly disappears. I just picked up 1x2 tubing to stiffen up the rear cab section of my 28 RPU. Not a roll bar, but will stiffen the body and provide some resistance to intrusion while remaining mostly hidden.
I could not agree more^^^^^^^^^ It's bit hard to see from the pictures but it looks like he has tubes coming off the the main hoop and a header bar across the top of the windshield with nothing at the front to support them. The door bars are kinda low and the main hoop is not supported well at the rear. Bars or cages in a Model A are a bit of a challenge. In a street car a bar can present more of a hazard than not having one at all. Especially if it's too close to your head. After all no one is going to wear a helmet on the street. In a wreck your seat belts and even your neck will stretch a lot more than you think. Many, including me have driven street cars with bars and cages. Mine even had a padded head rest but, I still rang my own bell now and again just driving around. Some early period roll bars and cages were built pretty well and offered some protection, but a lot of them were not. Of course there's a certain amount of risk we all take driving hot rods, race cars, or any other car for that matter, but it's always good to minimize it if we can.
I don't think the "door bars" are door bars at all. To me the rear hoop and roof hoop are meant to keep the roof from crushing the occupants in the case of a rollover. The bars from the rear hoop to the floor are more like a gusset acting against any bending moment that could be introduced on the bars. I'm curious if the roof hoop is connected to the roof or just hanging there. That's how I see it.
If you have a good off road fab shop in your area they can usually do pretty good custom tube/roll cage work
