    1954 Corvette Modified Bonneville/El Mirage

    Hello,

When I was in high school, I was able to drive around in a white 1954 Corvette. I helped detail the Corvette and made the white body shine as much as white can shine. The power of the Corvette was not much compared to my 58 Impala. But, it was a sporty car and drew raves/waving/pointing fingers and hands when we were going down the roads. It was in modern terms, but unused back in the early 60s, a "chick magnet."

Then, I saw an early Corvette photo and made several different custom models in artwork. I decided a simple modification was needed for the 1954 model for its front smooth lines and add some body work for super high speed time trials on flat lake beds. The 54 model was plain, so a 56 side working vent alleviates heat inside of the motor compartment. Plus, to keep the streamlining, the 54 protruding tail light was changed to a smooth body 56 version.

The SBC motor would have a front mounted 671 supercharger and skirts to cover the rear wheels for better streamlining. The behind the head rest, tall fin would be center mounted and add a full enclosed wind screen to give the driver as much needed streamlining during the high speed runs.

    Jnaki

But, since this is October and the Halloween month of the year, here is a version that perhaps one would see cruising the Halloween shows or Fall fairgrounds on display.

Or, a modified, full race streamlining , and lowered, to the extreme… and allowing “Mr. Pumpkinhead” to enjoy the fast race car… YRMV

A sign for a friends shop. Size was 4 feet by 7 feet. Illustration was of one of his favorite restorations. Entire sign was hand painted on aluminum then clear coated, should last for many years. IMG_1964.JPG

Painted this Cartoon of Bill Hines, the "King of Lead" on this candied barrel for the "East Coast Arty, charity Panel Jam" at the West Coast Kustoms Cruisin' Nationals in Santa Maria a few years back. I believe it auctioned for 3k, for the Rich Pitchett Alzheimer's Foundation! This was the last time Bill was onsite before he passed, he was able to autograph it too! Always fun to do some art for a good cause!

   ...Old Friends...

Once the roofs off the buildings days are numbered...

It was about 80° in the shade this recent October day...colors happening, leaves falling and whisping over the roads...priceless really...

I like the louvers reflected in the header cap...random things...

    This moment was surreal...
