Here is one that had cycle fenders for many years but when we went sports car racing they said no cycle fenders in C sports car class so the fenders were attached to the frame but retained tubing supports. Then they changed the rules so the area between the tire cover and body had to be covered. A small piece of .020 aluminum and some pop rivets fixed that. The SCCA was constantly harassing the hot rods that wanted to road race. This car won so many races they finally told me "no more trophies" but you can keep racing.

I was always wondering how the Ole Hotrods did in those events...pretty damn good by the sounds of it...that looks a fierce contender...what a great looking team there Pete...;)

...Pete did you ever meet these in competition...This may have been in other classes of racing however I believe pavement was their playground...

...Another Harley Fendered Hotrod rare but one of several I've noted over the years...this is a very well thought out mounting utilizing either the wheelcover or a pass through to the spindle for added support likely nessesary for this bulkier fender...

I'm curious if the Rodder ran cycle tires up front to enable the fender to be positioned properly to the eye...

...the ole Harley fronts were probably plentiful back then being discarded for the rebel look back in the day...

This is a New England Hotrod shared by Hamber @flatheadtommy who was surrounded by that good ole Cool Cars and Square Roll Bars...

Got this axle laying around with fixed fenders welded to the backing plates.

Some wrecker drive did a handy job on one of the fenders.
Someone needs to come get this thing, I'll never use it.

Looks like a hairpin type, the kind with the top bar flat, bottom curved...pretty short at that...agreed very sharp looking Hotrod...

...Circa 1962...Dean Probst's Hotrod/Custom...it's had quite the walk...his heart and soul went into it and he let her go...what's that saying, if you love something, set it free...admirable really...and he passed it on...

I see that hairpin mount, looks pretty “spindly” off frame but if cross steer seems early year. Nice car

    upload_2023-12-6_2-54-55.png Carlsbad Oilers Quint Meland

    Hello,

The original Dragmaster Group from Carlsbad,CA was a formidable team. Their race car chassis was one of the best designed versions and after the initial set up and record setting results, the word spread all over the USA.

Ever since we saw the original Dragmaster Potvin style supercharged SBC FED At Lion's Dragstrip in 58-59 season, we have enjoyed the Gold color for all of their race cars. Gold with white lettering and highlights.
Dragmaster total race cars, including the World's Fastest Chevy powered FED...(dark red: Cyr & Hopper)

But, we missed the early twin FED versions and this club street roadster. The style and color just said Dragmaster and was a popular club car built by Quint Meland.
    upload_2023-12-6_2-59-42.png
It is not a full fender street roadster, but qualifies as per fender over tires requirements.

    upload_2023-12-6_3-0-23.png

“Quint Meland's 1931 Ford Model A Roadster of Oceanside, California. Quint bought the basic car, without an engine in 1956. After spending countless hours in school auto shop and at his father's gas station the roadster was finally ready for its first trip to the Paradise Mesa Drag Strip in 1957.”

“In 1958, Quint was asked to join the Carlsbad Oilers Car Club and the Dragmaster Racing Team. He owned the car from 1956 to 1961, and he only lost two races with it.”

A few more from the larger “gold” Dragmaster stable from Carlsbad, CA

But, what would have happened if the motor were a little more powerful, like say, an additional larger cubic inch build, plus a 671 supercharger/Hilborn Injectors? Still street legal as per Street Roadster Class Rules, but a little faster and intimidating… YRMV

Happy New Year @rat bastad...never tire of seeing your Roadster...Hope you and your Friends missed that terrible weather a few days ago...

Gold Rocks on Hotrods and Customs...That roadster sports an unusual front and Bobbed Fender on the back...and they sure didn't hurt the wins...what would a bigger motor have done? Maybe it would have gave a clean sweep with no losses...heck losing only 2 was pretty incredible...

Happy New Year @jnaki...and thanks for sharing the good times always...

@AVater's Awesome Special...pretty rare to see these Hotrodded along with the Sport Coupes due to their unique Roof Treatments but they make really nice rides and hold their own looking pretty smart doing it if you give them a chance...Glad he did. @ct1932ford captured the backside of Av8tor's Coupe showing the Special Vinyl Roof Treatment...It like the Sport Coupe had some fancy woodwork in the Roof sections...
