Curious if the quick change has less drag than the 9 inch?

I do know the Chevy 12 bolt takes less and I believe the Dana 60 does also but the weight of the Dana is a drawback.

Weight of the rear end is not necessarily a bad thing.

  7. I believe you previously said the GMC was for another car? I was going off that

Of course it is! But if I was chasing a pickup record (something we have experience with ;) ) I would be looking for something a tad more aero!

  8. A roadster or coupe could be in the future but for now we just want to play with what we got till we can get funding to move forward. Just trying to keep racing while we move forward.. we may just run the truck on the standing mile for now. Just haven't figured it out yet. Money talks and we are looking for some lol.

  9. John got the GMC intake back from powder coat and bolted the carbs on to have a look. IMG_9322.JPG

  10. Just wanted to give a shout out for CP Carrillo and Justin Arias for working with us to build Rods and pistons for the 302 GMC.
The service and detail to perfection is really outstanding.
I'm sure the finished parts will meet every expectation we could want. Thank You Justin Arias and staff for your expert help

  11. Another great crew work day we had pulled the head on the 262 for a valve seal problem. Thanks Lee Pollard, Dave Russell and his son Eli Russell. The crew had lunch with Hampton area friends Jack Fuller and Tom Edwards then back to the shop to finish the day. I love these guys. 20230805_143923.jpg

  12. Didn't come to Bonneville this year as we spent that money on speed parts preping for 2024 speed week. Hope they get in some racing later on in the week. The rain gods have not been good to Bonneville for the last 2 years but may yeald for a shortened race this year

I have one that I have been thinking of using in my Pontiac but not sure if it is the best choice.

  17. Sorry I haven't posted much lately. My wife has Dementia and i's needing much attention. I have canceled the Arkansas standing mile for this coming weekend. But still plan to go in the spring.
We will be coming to Speed Week 2024 if possable.
Family first and racing can come later.
I got word from Justin Arias that our 302 GMC Rods and Pistons are done and will ship out today along with Total Seal rings.
Just want to thank Justin and CP Carrillo for there fine products. Can't wait to hold them in my hands and get started on the 302 GMC engine build.
    I'm also sharing some photos of a 283 Chevy build I'm doing for race money. 20230831_135712.jpg 20230901_105443.jpg 20230901_105351.jpg 20230901_111637.jpg 20230906_100742.jpg 20230906_104329.jpg

  18. Lots of records being set at the Arkansas mile's (Horsepower Harvest) this weekend.
I'm sorry we couldn't make it this fall. Really good weather low temp and low humidity make for making BIG HP

  19. And a 10 MPH tail wind!

Our friends from Hanover ran 209 in their LS powered BMW wagon.

    Great weather to race in.
Wish we could have been there to take advantage of those conditions.

  21. The crew got in a little work time last Saturday.
Pulled out the 9 inch rear and pre fit the Winters QC
Lots to do to finish the install. But it's a start. IMG_3751.jpg IMG_3748.jpg IMG_3743.jpg 20231023_111112.jpg

  22. OK, so it begins, baked and cleaned. Ready for line honeing the mains, bore and fit the Arias Pistons, and deck the block for compression heights.

We tacked on the spring pads and shock mounts, pulled the rear back out of the truck for welding the pads, did some shop clean up in preparation for a photo shoot with Winters Performance Products of the QC install 20231111_105855.jpg 20231111_105638.jpg 20231111_105745.jpg 20231111_105842.jpg 20231111_105851.jpg 20231111_113036.jpg
