Here are some pix I've saved; probably all from here.

I've been searching and not found any further information. As I recall these were called "inner beauty rings" on here. I've been searching the web for sources and so far come up empty. I've also been searching here for more information or descriptions.

    Now my questions:

    1. What are these actually called?

    2. Where can they be bought?

    3. How do they fit on? i.e., how are they installed (over or inside knobs/nubs, or what)?

    4. Do they only fit certain wheels?

    5. What specific wheels do they fit?

I'm going to get Clarence back in the next month or two and plan to order some polished original American Five spoke wheels for it.

However, I'd like to also have a set of painted wheels (Washington Blue to match the body) with these inner trim rings, possibly spiders, and possibly outer trim rings. The current wheels are salvage yard wheels that I bought at least 30 years ago. I have no idea what they came off of but they are not a matched set. The rears are 15" and the fronts are 14". They are either Ford or Mopar or some of each.

One more option I've been considering is the aftermarket wheels that look like late 40's Ford wheels but have 4 1/2" bolt pattern. I'll have to check with those manufacturers to see if these inner trim rings can be installed on their wheels; or if perhaps they offer them.

Right now I'm just getting my ducks in a row for when it gets home. If I can get a "real" name and source then when I get it home I can do some measuring and make an order.

    Thanx for your help.

    Yeah, they are pretty pricey.

The only time I don't feel pissed-off and disappointed about being so old is when I realize I don't need to buy this overpriced **** anymore.:(

I think the first time I saw a set of the rings and spiders the set of 4 I saw was $16.99 in 1960 at a speed shop on Manchester in Inglewood. I thought they looked stupid on a panel painted green and white wheel, were over priced and wouldn’t sell.

Thanks Lloyd. That's a lot more affordable.
