It's always interesting to see the various theme's that the season of Halloween brings to the
    "FAS" each year.

upload_2023-10-13_4-57-46.png An old Plymouth Sedan customized with a rake before the crowd...

    Hello,

When we were elementary school kids, we all used to pile into an old Plymouth sedan. The school’s
playground director always had organized baseball, basketball and flag football ready for our after-school activities.

He also ran, in conjunction with other schools, a Saturday sports league for most of the Long Beach Schools. The junior high schools had their own interschool compe***ion on Saturday mornings. So, the elementary schools also had compe***ion against other school's playground director’s teams, too.

Ours always drove half of the kids in his Plymouth sedan. The other half went with the cool looking college age girl he hired to be his ***istant. She drove a VW. So, she could only take 4 kids. Although she was a knockout, we opted to go with the coach, unless picked to ride in the VW. But, most of us wanted to suffer with the old coach in his Plymouth.

    Why?

The Plymouth had lots of room for more than 4 and it rode much nicer. The college age girl's car always had a strong "perfumey" odor. She also never allowed us to roll down the windows, for fear if us falling out. Ha!

We always rolled down the Plymouth's windows due to the coach/director never getting the chance to smoke his cigars on campus while the kids were there and participating. So, on Saturday mornings, the long cigar was lit and the smoke made the sedan’s interior as if it was on fire. We all tried to stick our heads out of the window. Well, the difference was that we smelled of cigar smoke when we arrived and not a “perfumey” odor… Yikes!

Later on in junior high school + high school we all reminisced about those elementary school adventures and what it might look like if the Plymouth sedan was customized. The cars we saw in the magazines were cool and we thought the playground director’s Plymouth sedan needed some changes.

Then, we thought of nothing about the incidents. But, these memories spark something in me to see what the Halloween month version would look like if I drew a new concept. The sedan below had a multiple scallop color treatment and showed the sedan as low as possible with 6-9 kids and baseball equipment in the trunk arriving at our compe***or’s home field. All with the team wearing Batman masks and capes… swinging our custom made Halloween bats!!! (Pun intended) YRMV
