    Hey guys,
This might be a really dumb question but i thought id ask anyway.
Im removing the banjo diff and torque tube from my 35 coupe for a rebuild, everything is disconnected and came apart no worries until i came to remove the outer torque tube from the ch***is, the cup on the front of the torque tube does not clear between the floor and the ch***is. Am i supposed to unbolt that area of the floor to the ch***is and try and lift that area a bit to get the clearence for the cup to clear or am i doing something wrong.
    Thank for any advice.

Yes, the removable section is removed, there just doesnt seem to be enough clearence between the floor and the x member section.

I just helped a friend remove and re-install same thing in a 40. We had to remove rear tires, spring and shocks, then jack rear end
way up to get the correct angle to get it past the floor and x-member. Hope this helps

On my 40 Ford I found it necessary to remove rear end by using a spring spreader (but left spring in place) and remove any bolts securing the floor to the frame AND wedge a "door stop" pieces of wood and flat pieces of wood between the floor and the frame on each side of the transmission and also under car between floor and X member.
The floor will flex upward enough to make room for torque tube bell.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO PINCH YOUR FINGERS WHEN REINSTALLING TORQUE TUBE AND GETTING THE SPLINES TO LINE UP.

dont forget the snap ring holding the bearing in of the inner bit to the outer bit of the tube, that you get at through the speedometer drive aperture
