There was a Hull Dobbs Ford dealership in south Minneapolis on 26th and Hennepin Ave. in the 50's through the 70's.

This 55 Crown Vic was my Uncle's before he passed a couple years ago. If l remember the story correctly, the service station he was working at in 1961 (which was owned by his father in law) gave him the car as a Christmas bonus. In the early photo (64ish) it had dodge Lancer hub caps and probably a 312 Y-block. Later it ran a 427 FE, toploader 4 speed and a 9 inch rearend. Toward the later 60s a 390 with homemade stacks to simulate fuel injection and fiberglass hood and fenders were added. I believe the car was last ran in 1969. After sitting in his garage a few years, it was pushed outside. In 2000 he pushed it back inside and began a complete rebuild, this time powered by a 1969 Boss 302 engine. Unfortunately due to later health issues he never got it back on the road. It's now in the care of his daughter and son-in -law.

Here's mine (and a couple more photos of my uncle Darrell's 55). I can remember seeing my Uncle's sitting outside when l was a kid before he started restoring his. I thought they had great, classic body lines and looked like they were going 100 MPH while parked. I guess it made an impression.

Anyways, right after purchasing mine, he approached me at a local car show and asked I'd be interested trading my stock grille for the tube grille that used to be in his. Obviously l immediately agreed, and since that time I've been able to purchase from my cousin the instrument cluster and Studebaker Hawk speedometer that he ran in his back in the 60s.

Also, those fiberglass fenders and hood with teardrop scoop were sold decades ago (l immediately asked what happened to them when he showed me the photo).
