I wear one at work every day. Just know that they leave little mustard colored fibers stuck to your clothes while you break 'em in.

  4. I sanded the shit out of it to clear coat it but I'm throwing in the towel, dropping it off for powdercoat tomorrow

Most likely the same chrome he did my blower footstool in or possibly the polished aluminum color he also had in stock.

  5. That ''chrome'' looks pretty damn good, Swade.
Beautiful fab job, nice piece front & center.

I have been wanting to build one of the Winfield anvils for some time now, well finally came up with some 4 foot pieces of pipe to pull it off. Still need to add some braces for the legs. I made the legs removable so it won't take up as large a foot print when not in use.

  9. The powdercoater is an old drag racer and still has a big block 55 chevy, he says that looks nice, with a reached out hand.
As soon as he grabbed it he says "you know your not doing your front end any favors, this thing has some weight to it"
I said well, I can bend bar stock, but I can't bend tubing without kinking it, he says I think it may hold your front end down, I said not with a tank of helium bolted to it, we both just laughed. Lol

That whole thing is done so well. You realize now you're going to have to chrome the tailgate latches. The truck is too pretty for rust ;).

If you're taking it out of the 'Vette, that probably means that you don't have any plans to use it again. I'd be willing to pay for the shipping just so you don't have to trip over it in your garage. It would look right at home in my '46 Merc four door. Always trying to help out a fellow HAMBster ;).

Had to do a major tune up for a Lady's 52 Cadillac, she has owned it since 1952. Also a 1949 Ford F1 truck that another shop could not finish, not HAMB friendly though.
