I don't see why not. I currently have 215/70R-15's on my '54. Plenty of room.

On the rear? I believe you can in a 6-7” wide rim but if it lowered you may have a problem getting it off. I used a 215-75-15 on a 6” rim on a non lowered 56 and the tire hits the body edge and brake drum if I try to remove one if the rear of car is picked up level. If I do one side at a time it’s easier and I carry 2 jacks in the trunk.

  4. Keep the wheel backspace up (4 to 4.5") and don't go wider than 7". I put 235/75-15 tires on a '56 I used to own on OEM 6" wheels and they s****ed lightly on both sides of the wheelwell....

I just put on 235/70-15 the rear is tight. In mind there's a decent amount of space but you do have to play musical jack stands to get it on and off lol

^^^^^^ fun on the side of the road.
I use a scissor under the spring clamp AND a stock bumper jack. It’s the only I can get a rear off.

I run 235/75-15 on the back and 215/75-15 on my front. The rears are tight to get on and off. The fronts will hit on the outer side on inclines, the disc brakes shoot the wheels out a tad.
