I'm an altered fanatic, so I've seen shots of this one before. It's so non-typical; Boss Ford with injectors in a Bantam altered. Those Stacks had to have been one of a very few sets. Even the rear wheels are uncommon (6 hole).

those are dragmaster wheels and look to be 16” which is very uncommon I’ve had a few sets of 15” ones through the years but never seen a 16” and especially probly at least 10” wide judging by the slicks

  5. Ed Prout used to hang out at the Sunoco station down the street from me in New Britain, Connecticut, with his red, 1960 Ford "A" stocker. IIRC he was either the NHRA record holder, or NHRA Nationals winner with this car, 352" FE engine.

The twin engined SBC car of Nye Frank, he built it to run top fuel. It was streamlined when originally built.

Sometimes, a picture is the best way to show how to couple two engines together on an in-line dual engine dragster.

    This is the standard set-up.

    One of the many ways.
I know a coupla guys that tried this method on a dual engine build.
Broke it during the burn out, as I recall.

Seems that the Buick V6 on Nitromethane did not want to be connected to another buick V6 on Nitromethane.
Crank Alignment was verified, chassis stiffened, nothing worked for very long.

We used a bullet proof timing chain, never had a problem. Our biggest issue was that we were loading almost 1000 horsepower onto the nose of a 327 Chevy engine (the rear engine). Although we never broke a crankshaft, it must have rattled around from the load and ate the main bearings...

We tried to use the shortest coupler between the engines. You can see how close together they are mounted....

How many looked at that Chevy II and didn't realize it was a four door?

    Hello,

The well publicized McMullen 1932 roadster competes at the 1965 Winternationals in Pomona. Rosemarie Gennuso drove it to 12.98 + 109.22 in a class called Street Eliminator. Listed as AA/SR, but lumped into the different class eliminations for the notoriety.

She started racing a sports car in 1964 at the Winternationals. It was called “Wild Rose.” The same meet was a flamed black 32 Ford roadster owned by Tom Mc Mullen.

"Wild Rose" began drag racing while living in Rochester, New York. She was a frequent drag race winner at Spencer Speedway. She set an X/A strip record at the Monroe County Fairgrounds in 1960 in her red '60 Corvette. She moved to California after 1961. "

"As the story goes, she met Tom McMullen at Bonneville and married him in 1965. Tom's iconic roadster, driven by Rose, competed in the 1965 Winternationals. It was a gorgeous car, and took a win in the AA/SR class. The McMullens started Street Rodder magazine in 1972, but the couple divorced in 1974.”

“What a great moment this had to be with Wild Rose taking her victory lap after winning at the Winternationals. Rose piloted the roadster to times in the high 12s at 109 mph to win their class. She was always a good driver with quick reflexes and Tom was never hesitant to put her behind the wheel.”

Did the rear engine crankshaft have an oversize snout (Chry 392 or BBC) on it?
