Small world - Upstairs was a graphics company that did blueprints long before CAD machines. I worked there, briefly out of high school. The paper was developed with ammonia. Big giant print machines up there. I don't miss the smell. Never knew downstairs used to be a speed shop!

I don't remember it being on Route 1 either, I remember it being near the corner of Whitman Ave and Vineyard Road in Edison, near Metuchen Transmission, which is still there, but is also not in Metuchen. Many parts of Edison used to have Metuchen mailing addresses, which caused the confusion. That and the Ford plant in Edison was called the Metuchen Assembly Plant, the train yard in Edison was the Metuchen yard, etc etc. But Edison Radiator was on Main Street in Metuchen for many years! I have met people who thought the lived in Meuchen as little kids but later learned they actually lived in Edison. Menlo Park Terrace in Woodbridge still has Metuchen mailing addresses -figure that one out!

Anyway, back then I couldn't afford the cars I wanted to buy. My fave was the 71 cuda.

Old thread, but he was on Hwy 1. I still have the shipping labels on the Crane Super Port Flow Heads and Cam package that were bought and never used in 1962.
