I have not seen to many 46, 47, 48 Fords so show your stuff. What can be done to these without breaking the bank?? How about some business coupes, club coupes, even the C-dans!
this is my pops. found it hiding in a barn in texas since the sixties. no rust and all original and we got the six running couple months ago. plans are to lower it with some whites and just cruise.. the car after i scrubbing the hell out of it is actually a gunmetal blue!
Here is my old 47. Gone a few years now. Narrowed Nova clip, Western Bullet wheels. Nice clean comfy driver/road car. Got a 46 convert to do that I hope turns out as well. Pat
all I have is the same old pictures of a dead project that has sit in the corner for 13 years now. I've got to much time and money invested to sell it and not enough time or money to finish it. is that the "catch 22" or what 48 ford business coupe 8 1/2 inch longer sedan doors modified to 36 ford 3 window proportions the chopped, sectioned, channeled stuff. early chrysler hemi all new sitting on top dead center ready to fire (been in car since 58) clutch-flite, chromed dropped front axle, nine inch rear pete&jakes ladder bars. 48 buick narrowed dash and window frames. I have gathered a bunch of new parts and am looking forward to working on it after I finish 3 other project cars first
How 'bout my '47 Sedan Delivery . Does that count? Still has straight axle, F-1 front brakes, SBC 350/Turbo 350 and 9" Ford rear end. It's my driver and parts hauler. I've had it about 4-5 years. MOST practical hot-rod I have.
Pic when I got it 10 years ago, photochopped to show how low it is with it's new ch***is. the grand plan, minus the WWWs.
Love your '47 SD...thanks for sharing...not something you see everyday... Glenn33 www.carartonline.com
*****en thread, keep 'em coming...especially 2-doors and convertibles....paging Tudor....paging Mr. Tudor....
here's one we've got tucked away in the barn...it's a 46 super deluxe coupe...been there about 20 years...I'll get to it someday maybe
Here is mine I kind of lost interest and started a different project. Maybe this thread will get me back on track.
Hey great response! lets see some more. I will have to admit they were not my favorite, but i think they are alot of them out there are are still affordable by todays standards if not actually cheap.
Solid floors, rockers, trunk, doors, trunk lid, etc. I have 3 sets of front fenders, two hoods, and a ton of parts. They are going on a frame I got from a fellow HAMBer that set it up with sbc mounts and mustang II dropped front end from the rod factory in Arizona. I set up the rear with a Ch***is Engineering bolt on and a 9 inch 3.22 rear. I'm almost finished putting together a 327 and have a a saginaw 4 speed for it.
Here's my '47 Super Deluxe V8 Sedan Coupe, with a '49 8BA. It's getting a 12V neg gnd rewiring and front disc brakes.
chad, got any pics from straight on? i have buick headlight rings and was thinking of a different grill treatment on my 46.
