My truck was missing the bed cross members, the sub rails, and the wood sills the bed sets on when I got it. The bed was wired to the frame. I have made the cross members but I don't have the wood sills yet, figured I would make those also. How did the bed originally bolt to the frame? Do the sills bolt to the frame, then the bed somehow fastens to those?

Check out the thread en***led ‘Model A truck vs car frame’. It’s might help you a bit. I don’t have a definitive answer for you, but surely someone here will.

I set the wood sills on the frame and bed on that then bolted it down. There are two bolt that are directly above the rear axle. Two forward bolts that go through a bracket on the bed over the wood sills.

Thank you both for your replies.
Almost done, thanks for the thread, I'll check that one out.
31Apickup, I figured there were some brackets I was missing. All it had was the bed sides, tail gate, and the front piece. Enough for a good start.
