1935 Plymouth Two door sedan...maybe. There are wires on Grandpa's Car...OEM for 35's looks like Steel Spokes but in the later 30s life was tough so they may have went with whatever...or it another year and brand...
Yes, I'm not totally confident but the field of brands was tapering off by the mid thirties...these are tough... It may be a Coupe... @lodaddyo can you see a hood emblem in the original pic?
@Stogy ive tried searching mid to late thirtys cars and cant identify the spokes either. Most have steel wheels except for ford and its def not ford. I cant see any emblems
I'd say there's a good chance if its a 35 Plymouth its a Coupe as the doors look shorter than the sedan I shared...I do note the handle to the hood proximity to the headlights and trim is real close...door handle to beltline real close too...
https://filly89auctions.hibid.com/c...pj-coupe-blue-2-door-steel-body-runs-many-new ...hey!!! @lodaddyo...it's nice to see the Elders with the Ole Cars...may Gramps Rest in Peace... 1935 PLYMOUTH PJ Coupe Look at that front fender to running board transition... Nice looking Coupe, I'd drive it first then @anthony myrick can have at it...
@Stogy thats it!!! Youre the man. My grandfather is the reason im into old cars. He was a hell of a man. Thanks again!
Huh ... looks like wire wheels were still available. Never seen a stocker that didn't have artillery wheels.
This is my old '35 Plymouth, about as original as it can be, I don't think the car in question is a '35 Plymouth.
I believe it's a different model #...Daddy's Gramps Car is a PJ Model...the 30s Mopars had lots of Models...mind boggling some times...I was just lucky to find this amongst All the others that had those circular details behind or intermingled with the side trim and those steel spoke rims...
https://www.allpar.com/d3/history/plymouth/1935.html Quoted below from the link above...its a rare bird it seems... "A third "mini-series" was offered briefly but it was soon discontinued after only 837 cars were produced. Called the PJ Six, it was a slightly upgraded version of the Business model. The only noticeable difference between it and the regular business line was that the hood received the deluxe chrome trim of 3 chromed bars with 5 circles behind it. Headlamps remained painted like the business line however. The majority of these cars were Canadian built (805 built at Windsor compared to only 32 at the Detroit plant)."
I read the brochure and it didn't mention Wires...They actually call the Steel Spoke Rims 'Artillery' It is interesting though that Gramps car and the Blue one both have wires...
Maybe half a butt cheek on the fender extension to the board...I was just saying the fender had similar detail in that area...
