Thanks Ryan for getting me straight on how screwed up AOL is..now I can post pics again! So here's the frontend of the 57 chevy I have been working on. 56 olds headlights, and I wanted to smooth the gunsights off so I cut a section at a time off and at first I used the leftover olds fenders for filler pieces but as I ran out I ended up using the pieces I cut out ...I heated the undercoating up enough to s****e it off, then flattened the steel with my poor mans planishing hammer (body hammer on an anvil!) By only doiny 6-8 inches at a time the pieces were easy to flatten and I got very little distortion because the raised gunsight sections kept the hood stiff. Next update will be a drastic change....hopefully to be started this weekend!
You frickin rule. That looks so clean, I can't wait to see as the rest of it progresses. This car is gonna knock em dead. So what did you do with the cold air vents?
the cold air vents **** from the fenderwell right now,but I plan on ****ing air from behind the 57 buick grill with tubes running into the splash apron.
Looks great man. How about some pics of the entire car? Done any more work to it? Not many guys out there chopping on 57 Chevys...
hint: I spent the morning pulling all the gl*** ....but no it isn't getting sectioned 3 inches!!!! No outdoor pics yet...maybe when the paint dries in a few weeks...or at least before the cow palace show.
Yeah... so far you're takin' off the stuff I don't like about 57's... cleans it up real nice. I'll keep an eye out on this one.
wow, ive always had a distane for 57 chevys but that right there is were its at man, those olds headlights and the 'shaved' hood realy pull it together nice. thats gona be one nice ride
Yea thats the idea of building a kustom...take off the ugly stuff and make it flooooooooow! Thanks guys...guess I have to finish this one since its coming out OK.
Brewsir, I'm glad to see you doing a custom again. I love all your customs. Lets see...pulling gl***....hmmmmmmm A haircut??
Looking VERY nice, I loved seeing the headlights at Billetproof, now I can't wait to see the hood..... Chris say's hi... ;o)
