Kennedy was assassinated in Nov. 1963 but the Chargers exhibition team started touring in the Spring of ‘64. The factory gave them orders to stay away from Chrisman’s ‘64 Comet that put on more of a show with its nitro burning, direct drive combo.

Doug, I met Pat at the CHHR in '02, he came over to talk about the Coleman Bros car we brought. We had a great visit for 20 minutes or so, I learned first hand how he got started, and some of the wild rides he had. He even hung around to hear the little fuel burning Chevy, fire up. He is 4th from the right. P1010033.JPG

I'm pretty sure I too was on the grounds that year too, after so many trips south it has all run together, I did get a chance to chat with Tom one year at Famoso for a couple minutes in the swap meet, mostly about the "football" Austin.
Man, I know it's inevitable but we have lost so many of the people in our history in this sport/hobby, great that we at least have it "in the cloud" as they say.
Marty, speaking of the cloud, I found these shots of the Coleman car, I recall seeing some that you and Tom posted prior but here are a bunch the rest of the guys might like.
