HELP, my battery doesen't have a group size on it. and i can't find my chart to size it. it is 6 1/2''W x 10''L x 7 1/4''H, what group battery is this size??? parts store wants to know what year car and engine size, etc, etc. HA HA... Boo
I just go to the battery rack and start measuring for the biggest one that will fit in your rod's battery tray. Walmart and others have self serve battery racks. Find group and purchase your favorite brand
What car do you have? is it 6 volt or 12 volt? The most popular batteries you'll find at parts stores are Group 24 12 volt and group 1 six volt. Those parts store personnel usually don't know a thing about group numbers. All they know how to do is find what's in the computer. The easiest thing to do is take a tape measure with you and start measuring what's on the rack while the sales guy is trying to figure it out.. You will need to know the post type (top post or side post) and location, too. Some batteries of the same group have posts located on opposite sides of the battery and/or +&- posts reversed. If your car is a custom built, this is probably the best option.
Those dimensions don't match up to any battery size I've heard of: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/r/advice/car-maintenance/battery-size-chart
OK, I'm tired of copy and paste, here's a link to the most common BCI batteries for automotive use. Forget Advance. https://batterygroupexpert.com/
