This is my Avatar car, it's been fitted with a pair of Early post war Ford 'Anglia' rear lights for a very long time now. The Dagenham built cars just had the one lamp fitted to illuminate the square centrally mounted registration plate that these cars had.

 

Literally nothing but the tail light

I was talking to the owner of this 1950 GMC Suburban. This was prior to the pandemic and we were all free to roam anywhere without fear of any kind. The owner was a surfer and the Suburban was one of the nicest ones I had seen in many years. Everything was well done and even the color, primer black, was done in an “ice” paint mode, so popular with current paint trends.

From far away, it looks like a primered paint Suburban. From close up, the details stand out and there were many questions I had for the owner. He was happy that I noticed his hard work and details.

It is too bad the custom Suburban would not fit in our small two car garage. It was stunning.

 

I have some I like.

 

X38’s interpretation has me hunting for some 1941 stude lights- standing on the shoulders of giants.

 

These might have to suffice in the meantime.

 

One for vandenplas- and I mean one- I have a matched set of one in inventory.

 

I think I am past that age. Last thing I want to do is draw an angry cops attention.

 

Apparently 1939 Ford tail lights are a thing so I'm just going to leave my unfinished A pickup projects roll pan and lights right here also.
