Hope all are doing well. Trying to figure new rim & tire size for Coupe. Big & littles of course, but looking for suggestions on rim / tire size and backspacing specs. Saw beautiful Chevy coupe fellow member 'themoose" from CT with what looks just right. Tried to reach, Can't get conversation working, maybe not an option anymore. Any help appreciated!

    Be well,

Rear axle is from Trans Am WS6 package. Has seville type calipers and is stock length.
    Thanks for inputs!

If you want them back under the fenders, use a 15x7. Can use a 15x8 with say a 4" or 4.25" backspace, judging by the looks of the rear width. Looks like a 15x8 vette wheel on there now. We run a 255/70 on this one, but I've seen some guys use a 235/70 on the early Chevys as well. Here's a 255/70. roadster 001.jpg

Paul55, Appreciate the info. Nice looking roadster! After a lot of measuring and research, the rear end width is limiting my wheel choices. The Trans Am rear in it measures 62" wide. Moose and others are running 54" wide s-10 rears. The car does not look bad, but rear tires stick out by 2" beyond fenders. Dmv in MA is getting nastier about this, so I figured a wheel swap to fix. Looking into a rear swap or having this one narrowed. I think a 58" wide rear would give me what I want, and allow for 8'-8.5' rim with 3.75 - 4.5" of backspace, and still have the right dish look. Not sure if guys using 54" wide are tubbed with springs moved. That seems very narrow to me, but would love to hear from members on that. Cheers to all for a better 2021!

The magic # to run a 15x8-15x8.5 with a std. offset is approx. 56-56.5". Ford Maverick would fit the bill. The S-10 at 54.5" works with the right offset wheel(no more than 3" b.s.), or just run a std. offset wheel with a quality machined spacer.

Your magic #'s are what I came up with from my measurements too. Been hunting around for an s-10 8.5 diff. and talked with a shop that builds race car rears. They have the truing bar and jig set up to narrow this one and can change the gear set to 3.73 for me. Just waiting for availability / lead time / price for axles and other parts so he can quote. Hope its in my ballpark, be nice to not have to move the spring perches.

Hey guys, got it done! Ended up having the 10 bolt narrowed since it had the disc brake, drive shaft, and perches all set. Great shop in Shrewsbury, MA Mitchell differential, kid in his 20's name Sal did a great job! On to the front end, going to drop it down and figure out a way to not have the steering rack attached to the axle.

Vinman1, drop me a message. I am interested in a couple of parts you have for sale in the classifieds, but your account is locked down and wont accept messages. Thanks in advance.
