Earned it. Picked up the torch from his dad and ran with it. Go to roybriziostreetrods.com and check finished cars. I doubt if there's another shop in the country that can match his quantity of finished cars plus the constant high quality turned out by his shop. A hot rod icon. Bravo for him.
He is very accommodating too, I would pop in every so often to see what was going on and to say hello to some friends I had made during the 3 month period in which I worked there to help catch up on the shop's work load. Last time was when I went to see the Kookie T in person after they debuted it, Roy just said go stand next to the car and I'll take your picture. Well deserved recognition.
Roy deserves it for sure, a real class act! Never met him or visited the shop but have followed him since seeing the many magazine articles of him and Andy over the last 30 or 40 years. Saw many of his customers' cars at the Plesanton Goodguys events, every one a top shelf build. Discovered his shop website many years back and visit it often to view customer builds. Obviously his dad Andy instilled a tremendous work ethic in Roy.
Good deal, Roy has built some outstanding cars and the Eric Claption 4 door Vicky stands tall in his accomplishments. Congratulations. HRP
Whatever you do guys don’t click that link. I don’t know what it is but it’s definitely not Roy Brizio’s website. This is the correct link https://roybriziostreetrods.com/
I changed the link in my original thread to the correct one. My mistake. before I posted that this morning I checked and the original link I posted came up? Thanks Blue One for correcting my error. Sorry if it caused any problems for anyone.
I was obsessed with this pick up, it was in final assembly when I started lingering around probably almost 20 years ago.
Well-deserved award. He builds great cars and actually drives 'em. My favorite Brizio car is the '33 Ford he built for Cliff Hansen:
Cliff Hanson was a loyal supporter of Roy. That blue 30/31 RPU has been on my favorites list since it was built. It was an inspiration when I built the 2004 NSRA giveaway 30/31 highboy rpu give away truck. I couldn't take it to that level because of some constraints I had to follow but it turned out good.
Well deserved. Can echo the comments about being able to just drop in and look around. I first paid a visit there 19 years ago, when my now ex and I were over visiting my good mate who had recently emigrated to Bay Area from the UK. Was amazed when we walked into front 'shop' area that they said, have a walk around the workshop. Been back loads of time prior to Covid and always popped in to visit, and got know Dave C on the front desk quite well. Favorite Brizio built car of mine is this blue '32 3w they built for John Mumford (one of many, many cars Brizio's have built for him)
The large number of repeat customers speaks volumes of Roy and his employees' dedication to quality and detail.
One day I’d love to pop in there and have a look around. You never hear anything negative about Roy, a testament on how he was brought up...
I’ve only heard positive things about Roy, and the cars he and his staff turn out have to be top of the line to still be in this business after this many years, and with the clientele he has. If I could only win the damn lottery and get on the waitlist……
I stopped by a couple of years ago while on vacation. I was given a grand tour. The facilities, cars, and people there are ALL top notch! It was both a pleasure and an honor to be there.
