..Working out a deal on a 39 Dodge...Subframed , 350 chevy automatic , tilt wheel, 9 inch ford ...Solid car with clean matching title...What do you think ? 39 dodge.png

  3. Do it! Then ditch the Chevy and put an early Hemi in it…

  4. I have actually been thinking about this thread. I am sure that I posted my 40 coupe, if not here it is.

But I am also working on an OT parts hauler. It is getting a 4V Cleveland. 'Cause who don't like a sleepy parts hauler.

OK I just wanted to keep this on top, it building time of the year.

You absolutely cannot loose with that era coupe. I don't care what brand it is. The MOPAR is kind of fancy, love the fluted fenders.

Got my auction find 327 that I scored over the summer fired yesterday in "Eternal Mock-Up". Pleasantly surprised! I gave it a quick once-over; new head gaskets, plugs, random dizzy from my parts bin, and let 'er rip. She will be backed by a T5 and a '58 9". Now the fun begins!

20231102_155029.jpg Fuck it.....I'm officially old. No more lifting up iron rat motor heads...Seems like only a few years ago I would pick up bbc blocks and put em in the truck. No wonder my neck and back are hammered shito_O

  19. I used to do the same thing. I was the dumb ass who would set Hendrickson Walking beam springs and saddles by hand. Not anymore, if I had a big block in anything, I’d remove and replace the heads with a shop crane.

Iv'e done a couple of Hendrickson walking beams on my employers tour busses when I was young:)

  21. I delivered Pepsi for a living, 11 tons a day all by hand up and down the truck and up and down basements and stairs, plus would hit the weights at a minimum of one hr a day.
When I moved into this house I carried a bbc short block with the engine stand still bolted to the back of it into the garage.
Nowadays I have 2 herniated discs, bone spur, Stenosis and neuropathy all along from T12, L1,2,3,4,5 to my Sl joint, left shin and top of foot is 60% reduction in sensitivity compared to right. I hate bending over for anything or that 30% lean forward like shaving or doing dishes, haven't slept the night through in a little over 20 yrs now.
Sure wish I had some insight on how that would tear a fella up.
If I can figure out an easier way of doing stuff in the garage I sure do it, don't care how stupid it may look !

  22. Pretty sure most of my back problems are from putting a BBC block in a trunk by myself once when I was 17…. So, the working smarter deal is a much better idea. I just need to remind myself of that more often. I did learn that aluminum BBC heads sure are easier to move around recently than the cast iron ones. :D

  23. Thank you for what you did for a living. Keeping a sodaholic like me going delivering The World’s Finest Liquid!!

  24. I’m familiar with this deal as well when working alone…. I have used a forklift and hoist hanging a blower from the straps a few times lately.

Started working on the 454 this afternoon , got the block all cleaned and threads chased. Cleaned the crank etc. If the new battery pack arrives for the ring grinder tomorrow I will start on that chore;)
