Hot Rods Chrome Wheels with Blackwall Tires

Customs look great with chrome steelies and whitewalls.
I'm thinking chrome reversed wheels with black tires is more of a Hot Rod thing, than a Custom thing.

Are chrome smoothies with small baby moons considered a kosher HAMB replacement for chrome reverse wheels, it seems the traditional custom car guys are always looking for the real thing, not a lot of nice ones being reproduced from what I've read here.

This picture was taken in the late 60's I think....It ran everything from a 283 to an L88, Dodge pickup axle, I only rode it it once and the springs must have been in the trunk...I had a headache from the rough ride

I just bought these off of Craigs list for my '40 p/u project.
I like the wide whites, but considering blackwalls, which is why I started this thread.
